Rising Stars
Plastics News' Rising Stars program highlights the next wave in plastics industry leaders — 35 accomplished and promising millennials and Generation Zers age 35 or younger.
This year, Plastics News received nearly 100 nominations for Rising Stars. It wasn't easy narrowing them down to just 35 people age 35 and younger in the industry.
Moneta's first plastics job was at Bridgville, where he started working his senior year of high school, then he interned for Bridgville and Whirlpool Corp.
Rader-Edkin became a senior molding engineer in Franklin Lakes, N.J., in June 2021, then moved back to PCT to be named program manager for the Plastics Innovation and Resource Center in April 2022.
After graduation, Merkle joined Clarkston, Mich.-based resin distributor Chase as an applications development engineer, relocated to the Philadelphia area for field support to the East Coast, then moved to Charlotte, N.C., to support the Southeast area.
After being part of the technical team and using her engineering background, Lopez moved to product line management.
Ferrer Borrell published his first article in 2015 and founded Gau3di, a metal additive manufacturing startup, in 2020.
Jones also belongs to the International Society of Beverage Technologists and participates in the sustainable packaging subcommittee.
Lidia Acosta's start in the plastics industry began as an intern for Saudi Basic Industries Corp.
Rohr, who said her current challenge is integrating new processes to create efficiency, continues to network with current and previous employees "to learn about new career trends and opportunities."
